INSIGHT: FSU Study Finds Tourism Industry Pays Lowest Wages Nationwide
A recent study conducted by Florida State University shed light on the growing wage gap between the hospitality industry and other industries nationwide. Studies found for every $1 increase in wages across the entire economy, the hospitality sector experienced only an 81-cent pay hike. With tourism being Florida’s leading industry, and ranking #4 nationwide based on economic impact, the study outlines how this may result in a competitive disadvantage.
