With the goal of helping jumpstart leisure travel, MMGY Global has partnered with HSMAI to launch "Buy One, Give One," a program designed to generate immediate revenue for hotels, while simultaneously providing a much-deserved “thank you” to healthcare workers who have been tirelessly working on the front lines. We’d like to invite our hotel partners to participate in this collaborative endeavor to showcase the strength and resilience of the industry.

"Buy One, Give One" is a “vacay layaway” initiative that incentivizes travelers to book future travel now through the purchase of gift cards or online bookings. In return for the booking, hotels will donate room nights or loyalty points to a charitable organization that supports healthcare workers (suggested organizations will be provided).

The program will quickly launch next week on April 30 and will go through the end of June, with the possibility of extending depending on when restrictions are lifted. HSMAI/MMGY Global are creating a landing page, BuyOneGiveOneStay.com, that will promote the umbrella program and will provide Toolkit materials for participating hotels to execute the program.

The program is completely customizable – each hotel can determine what type of “match” they’d like to donate in exchange for a booking and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater would be paying the participation costs for destination properties.
